May 1, 2010. The final Venom Nation Radio Show airs on Pirate Radio.
April 25, 2010 – “Rockposer’s Roulette” airs for the final time on The Venom Nation Radio Show. RockPoser will continue the “Roulette” on The BrownSound Radio Show going forward.
April 17, 2010 – Episode 100. Steve celebrates the 100th Pirate Radio. episode of “The Venom Nation Radio Show”. The announcement is made that, due to family and personal obligations, the show will cease production, with the final show airing May 1, 2010.
February 12, 2010 – A deal is reached with KQLZ News Editor “Rock Poser” To host a segment, at his discretion (weekly or otherwise) on the Venom Nation Radio Show. The segment will be called “RockPoser’s Roulette” and will feature varying music from the tastes and pallete of RockPoser. The segment will debut on February 20, 2010.
February 12, 2010 – The New Theme To Venom Nation is selected. Ozzy Osbourne’s “I Don’t Wanna Stop” is chosen after several listeners suggested it. It’s first use will be February 13, 2010.
February 6, 2010 – After a conversation with a listener, Steve makes the decision NOT to quit doing shows, but rather to revamp the playlist, format, and style of the show. The announcement is made on what SHOULD have been week one of the “Top Ten” – and the show kicks off in a new style. The playlist no longer centers around what’s “popular” but rather around what Steve wants to play, listener requests, and a “no holds barred” format.
January 23, 2010 – Pirate Listener “Gear Jammer” participates in the show by picking a good majority of the playlist for his birthday. Among the playlist is “The Load Out” by Jackson Browne. Reception of the odd choice of thrash and classic rock songs is tremendous.
January 16, 2010 – The decision to discontinue production of the Venom Nation Radio Show is made. It is determined that the final show will be Episode 100 (April 17, 2010) which is concurrently the 2 year anniversary on Pirate Radio. The decision is also made that beginning February 6, 2010, the show will present ten weeks of “top ten” shows. Each week Steve picks another artist in his top ten, and features the top ten songs from that artist.
December 31, 2009 – Steve participates in Rock n John’s New Years Eve for the second year in a row. Rock, John, Moose, Steve, and other guests count down the new year in different time zones!
December 19, 2009 - The Vicar’s Very Merry Venom Nation Christmas Airs on Pirate Radio. The Four Hour Show features Classic, Rock Christmas Songs, Blues, Jazz, and Parodies. It is the fifth annual Christmas Show.
December 2009 – The Second Yearly Installment of “Year In Review” Shows air throughout the month, featuring the Vicar’s 25 favorite releases from 2009.
November 28, 2009 - For the first time in the show’s history, the playlist includes every song from a single album. The album, W.E.T. , from the band of the same name, is a new release from Jeff Scott Soto, and is well received by the pirate crowd.
November 7, 2009 - Jeff Scott Soto is inducted into the Venom Nation Hall of Fame
October 31, 2009 - Halloween Spooktacular VI airs on Pirate Radio
October 10, 2009 – Journey is inducted into the Venom Nation Hall of Fame
September 19, 2009 - “Visions of The Vicar’s Past” debuts on the show. This feature will highlight an album from the Vicar’s past that had tremendous influence on his life and music. The debut album on the feature is Ozzy Osbourne’s “Ozzmosis” album.
September 5, 2009 - The Venom Nation Radio Show returns from a 5 week hiatus with a new format and a new layout. The show features the first induction into the Venom Nation “Hall of Fame” – Pink Floyd. Throughout the show Pink Floyd is featured, and througout the remaining month of September, their music is featured in the shows.
August, 2009 - For the first time since it’s debut on Pirate Radio, the show goes on Hiatus from new shows, due to scheduling conflicts with school and “life”. For the five Saturdays in August, the show airs repeats of the five shows Steve thinks are the best from the “collection” with new introductions for each show.
July 4, 2009 - THe Venom Nation Radio Show’s “All American Bash II” airs on Pirate Radio. The show kicks off with a dedication to Alan Schaefer, HBJ Co Host “The Acid Chimp” Who passed away twelve days earlier., and a special introduction featuring John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address and “Ragged old Flag” from Johnny Cash. The show features an “A-to-Z countdown” of All american bands in the hair metal and glam genres.
June 28, 2009 - Venom Nation airs a special three hour show, throughout which several “Kicked Up Covers” of Michael Jackson are aired. The “Vicars Vault” For the evening encompasses liver perofmrances of “Jam”, and “Thriller”.
June 25, 2009 – The “King of Pop” Michael Jackson Passes Away at the age of 50.
June 22, 2009 – Alan Thomas Shaefer, Co Host of The Hairball John Radio Show, Passes away at the age of 37. He was best known as “The Achd Chimp”
April 19, 2009 - The VNRS Celebrates ONE YEAR On Pirate Radio!
March 27, 2009 -After many many attempts, and much begging, Steve is granted an interview with Jeff Scott Soto. The performer has led such bands as Talisman, Axel Rudi Pell, Human Clay, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Journey, in addition to his awesome solo career.
March 14th 2009 Steve celebrates Pirate Radio’s 20th Anniversary on The Venom Nation Radio Show. In a record breaking three hour show, listeners are treated to a recreation of the entire first hour Pirate Radio was on the air….from March 17th 1989, 30 minutes each with Jocks Shadoe Steele, Scott Shannon and Tawn Mastrey, and in the final 30 minutes Steve aired an interview conducted with Shadoe Steele. It is the first time Steele has been on a public airwave since he left pirate in 1991. The show breaks new records on Pirate radio for chat room attendance, maintains STRONG listenership throughout, and the members of the Pirate “”Staff”” (including Rock and John Silvers) are given many accolades.
February 28, 2009 “Chick Rock” Airs. It’s the first show featuring an ALL Female Musical Lineup.
February 21, 2009 “Venom Nation Film Festival” airs. Building since the Pirate Radio Debut, the show features songs from movies, along with audio from those movies’ respective theatrical trailers. The reception is lukewarm at best, due to the inclusion of such artists as Huey Lewis (Back to the Future) and short clips (Not a song..)from Madonna (the “Vision Quest” Trailer).
February 15, 2009 The February 15 deadline set by the Webcaster Settlement Act (H.R. 7084), Passed by Congress in late October 2008, Expires. The legislation gave SoundExchange and Internet radio broadcasters the legal authority to settle the webcaster royalty rate debacle for both the 2006-2010 and 2011-2015 terms after the 110th Congress adjourned. It is unknown, as of that date, what the future holds for Pirate Radio, or The Venom Nation Radio Show. Pirate Radio Directors John Silvers and Rock vow to continue until they are either legally, or financially unable to do so.
February 14, 2009 The Venom Nation Radio Show’s first “Official” theme song, “Light it Up” by the band Rev Theory, debut’s on the show. Venom Nation also has it’s first “Exclusive” Voice talent, Kevin Anthony, who debuts on the show this evening as well. This episode features an interview with Neal Grusky, founder and Guitarist for the band Takara, who’s new album “Invitation to Forever”, as well as the back catalogue of the band, is featured during the three hour show. The show was intended to showcase an interview with Yngwie Malmsteen, but due to miscommunication between Malmsteen, his PR Agent, and Pirate radio, the interview does not take place. February 7, 2009 “The Concert Through Time and Space II” airs on Pirate Radio. It is the 40th Episode of “The Venom Nation Radio Show” on Pirate Radio. Legitimately, not part of the “Numbering Joke” – it IS the second “CTTAS” broadcast.
January 31, 2009 “ZippoPolooza”, airs on Pirate Radio. The show, by listener request, features 100% Rock and Hair Metal Ballads. 75% of the playlist is generated by listeners in Pirate Chat.
January 17, 2009 “Kicked up Covers” III airs. As previously mentioned, it is the sequel to “Kicked up Covers” – There never was a “Kicked up Covers II”.
January 3, 2009 The “Twilight of Destiny” Show airs. It features Steve’s first radio interview in over a decade, with Eric Ragno, founder and Keyboardist of the band Chyna Blue. Fans are treated to a Q&A session with Eric in Pirate Chat, and the Pirate Radio Debut of the band’s “Twilight of Destiny” album
December 31, 2008 Steve joins Rock, John Silvers, Jim van Johns, & “The Moose” on “The Rock and John New Years Eve Bash”. The show is live, and counts down each time zone’s New Year. It also features “Pirate TV”.
December 6th ,13th ,20th & 27th, 2008 “The Year In Review” is aired. Each show is two hours and features songs from new releases from Pirate or Venom Nation related artists in 2008.
November 29, 2008 Venom Nation Radio Show airs it’s 30th Episode.
November 22, 2008 To coincide with the 17th anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s Death….”Rock In Peace II” Airs on TVNRS. It features all artists who have passed away. The show is titled “Rock in Peace II”….as a joke. There never was a “Rock in Peace I” episode. The “Numbering” jokes would continue….(See 1-17-09)
November 1, 2008 The second band to “feature” in the show debuts. Edens Curse vocalist Michael Eden submits voiceovers for Venom Nation AND Pirate Radio, and the band’s harder edge songs remain extremely popular today on both VN and Pirate Radio.
October 25, 2008 “Halloween Spooktacular V Is Broadcast, the first “Halloween Spooktacular” episode on Pirate Radio. Legitimately, not part of the “Numbering Joke” – it IS the fifth “Spooktacular” broadcast.
October 18, 2008 The “Brown Sound Radio Show” Debut’s on Pirate Radio to a postiive response. Steve hosts his first “countdown” show, Hair Metal – A to Z
October 11, 2008 Luke Brown’s final show on “The Venom Nation Radio Show”. He leaves the show to host “The Brown Sound Radio Show” on Pirate Radio, in it’s own time slot, Saturdays at 3PM Pacific, 6PM Eastern, before the Venom Nation Radio Show, repeating on Tuesday evenings. The show eventually becomes weekly. Steve makes a pact that there will never be another co-host on the VNRS, unless it’s Luke.
October 4, 2008 It is announced that Luke would be leaving the show to host “the Brown Sound” on Pirate radio. He had been doing this show for nearly five years, to podcast crowds.
September 20, 2009 Venom Nation Radio Show Airs it’s 20th Episode
Septenber 13, 2008 The first “Kicked Up Covers” Show airs. It features all covers of great songs.
August 23, 2008 Because Steve is unable to broadcast due to medical issues, Luke hosts the Venom Nation with a new co-host for the first and only time. “Wild Wade” joins the show.
August 16, 2008 The first ever Pirate-driven Steve-O-Wabo Birthday Bash airs. It is three hours, and features a playlist entirely selected by Steve, on his 31st birthday.
August 9, 2008 Viola Brown (Wife of Luke) Makes an appearance in the show. She is “bound and gagged” after being told, for her birthday, she could pick songs for the show, and she chose Madonna. Later in the show, the duct tape is removed from her mouth and she is allowed to pick a few other songs, which included “The Who” and “Queen”. (Kayfabe “bound and gagged” of course)
July 26, 2008 The first “outside influence” of songs picked for the show airs this date. “The Winn Dixie Stoner Deli Dude’s Pick Of the Week” is featured, generally with a newer band and harder edge. It would eventually fade away.
July 19, 2008 The first band to “participate” in the show is featured. The band Blindid gives Venom Nation music, voiceovers, and promotion, for the show. Their music remains popular in the show today, as well as on Pirate.
July 5, 2008 The Venom Nation Radio Show “All American Blowout” Is Broadcast On Pirate Radio – It features three full hours of All American bands.
June 28, 2008 Because of technical difficulties in the original show, the “Repeat” show of June 21, that would have normally aired in the mornign time slot is pre-empted. For the first time, a NEW show aired just for the Morning crowd, with just Steve hosting, and another show with Steve and Luke hosting aired that evening in the normal “new” time slot.
June 21, 2008 “The Venom Nation Radio Show” goes “weekly”. The show, going forward, will be new every week, instead of every other week.
June 14 2008 Steve Is “On Vacation” – Luke hosts Venom Nation by himself for the first time.

May 17, 2008 “The Concert Through Time and Space” Airs. The show is three hours long and features 100% live music, mixed to sound like a “Concert”…one night, one stage.
May 4, 2008 Steve Fills in For Rock and John Silvers on their own “Rock and John Show”
May 3 , 2008 Luke Brown is brought on board as the co-host of “The Venom Nation Radio Show”. The two host various segments, including “Rock The Box” which allows Pirate Radio listeners to vote on who “rocked the box” better. During his tenure on the show, he continues to impress listeners with “The Brown Sound”, still available as a “Podcast” several times a month.
April 19, 2008 “The Venom Nation Radio Show” Debut’s on Pirate Radio. The show is scheduled for new episodes bi-weekly, debuting at 7PM Pacific, 10PM Eastern, on Saturday Nights. The show would repeat Saturday mornings, and on “Off” weeks.
March 23, 2008 During “The Rock n John Show”, KQLZ Program Director John Silvers and Shows Director “Rock”, play bits and pieces from “Venom Nation” on their show. Discussion begins about bringing Venom Nation to Pirate Radio.
March 16, 2008 Steve discovers “Pirate Radio” during “The Rock n John Show”. He joins pirate chat during the show. During the chat, he mentions HIS show, the “Venom Nation” Show

2006 Having now outlet for his creativity, his political rage, and his disgust with the way things are in America, the “Venom Nation” show is born. It is 60% poliitcal commentary, and about 40% music. The title is derived from a comment Steve’s wife made about being “Full of Venom”.
Late 2005 Steve is issued a “Cease and Desist” order by a record company, barring him from legally using the word “Wabo” in any form related to a podcast or radio show. The domains “WaboFM” and “WabogoesVocal” are no longer used. It should be made clear that the request had NOTHING to do with the band Van Halen, or ANY Of it’s members, including Sammy Hagar.
December 21, 2005 “Christmas Extravaganza” Debut’s on “Wabo FM”
October 31, 2005 “Halloween Spooktacular II” is broadcast on “Wabo FM”
2005 Increasingly discouraged by events of the world, and known for his rants and raves, “Wabo FM” Becomes “Wabo Goes Vocal” and the focus shifts to include more vocal duties on behalf of the host. The show averages 200-300 downloads per episode.
Late 2004 Luke Brown begins hosting “The Brown Sound”, via the same distribution methods as “Wabo FM”. The name is a combination of Edward Van Halen’s patented “Brown Sound” guitar tone, and Luke’s own name.
October 31, 2004 The first “Halloween Spooktacular” is broadcast, via podcast.
July 11, 2004 – At the Encouragement of his friends at VHStrungout.Com, Steve starts steveonet.com, and is dubbed “Steve-O-Wabo” By fellow member Roland Chayer. “Wabo FM” Is Launched as a regular Internet Radio broadcast. It primarily features the music of Van Halen (celebrating the 2004 Reunion) and requests from the members of the VHStrungout Community and The VHLinks Comminuty. The show was anywhere between 1 and 4 hours long, and was distributed via file sharing services like MegaUpload and Rapidshare. It was during this time that Steve also met Luke Brown (Senorbeavis).
1996-1998 Steve Works As A DJ At A Local Rock Radio Station. During his time there, he interviews Legendary Artists Tom Petty and Joe Elliot of Def Leppard.
